Reasons for Chelsea's undefeated streak in EPL 16/17:

Chelsea's Italian boss Antonio Conte who is renowned as veteran football tactician in overall European football league has made the most difficult football league in terms of all aspects (physicality, talent, tactics, etc.) look like an easier job for any football tactician. But, its not the way as it seems to be. In fact, it is so much difficult task that the former champion club with excellent players and in-form team with in-form team chemistry have to struggle for their placement in the table next season. Every club is in threat despite of their strong condition and strong background under which includes talented players, tactician, passing accuracy, team chemistry, heavy wallet of club owners and other many more. There occurs tough competition in which even a result of a single played-match has a huge impact making this league the MOST SENSITIVE FOOTBALL LEAGUE.

After Chelsea's victory over 2014/15 season, they had a hard time during 2015/16. They were not able to reach even the top four as was expected from every football fans not only from the Chelsea fans and that result was obvious. Many reasons were behind those factors, which can be discussed later but the hot-cake is their undefeated results in the season. We cannot credit exactly to these reasons but these are the main possible reasons according to my empirical based study about EPL and these reasons are mentioned in descending order.

3) Change in player's mentality: Chelsea players are regarded as talented players due to their presence in the club. Its a blind belief that being member of Chelsea is a talent. Therefore, these players are comparatively regarded as talented athletes this is true to some extent. But, during 15/16, they were not hard working as they used to be. They were playing a lazy game as if they were dizzed resulting their talent unnoticed. Players also were to somewhere indifferent with the way they had performed. They had lacked confidence and the competition was not easy itself. In short, the whole team was not in form but thanks to the new season, they were able to overcome all those problems plus were able to show their unique talents.   

2) Drastic change in the managerial system:         Huge amount of credit can be given to the Blue's genius boss Antonio Conte. During their 15/16 season, they were handed over two boss; Jose Mourinho, permanent in-charge who was sacked due to poor record and hunger for new managerial ability and Guss Hiddink who was appointed as the caretaker before a permanent replacement for half of the season. After the completion of season, Antonio Conte was appointed as the perfect man for managerial job due to his great performance in the Italian league. He was the man who changed the mentality of the players into more hardworking and a must win mentality. Regarded as the strict boss, he was able to change the team chemistry within a short span.

1) Perfect for the job:    After the signing of N'Golo Kante from champions Leicester, Chelsea is now able to maintain possession and dispossess the opponent. He is master in this job in which club was lagging behind. Similarly, calling back Victor Moses from loan and providing Marcos Alonso chance also helped the club bridged the hunger for strong winger and maintain defensive role. At first, there was confusion regarding selection of these multi-talented players, but the boss was so genius that he was able to filter gold very soon.
