Bundesliga

Bundesliga also known as FuBall-Bundesliga is professional football league for men at the top of German football league system. Founded in 1962, 18 clubs are its stakeholder, which follows the system of relegation and promotion. There are three professional league in Germany. Operated by Deutscher FuBball Liga, it has only two divisions, named as Bundesliga and Second Bundesliga(second tier of German football). Each team plays 34 match, one home and other away two times with the same club(double round robin system) which starts from August, winter break of six weeks and ends at May of next year. Only two teams from bottom of the table gets relegated to Second Bundesliga, and top two teams and winner of first playoff from Second Bundesliga are promoted to Bundesliga.

Bundesliga is known as the league for having highest number of average stadium attendance globally. There are total 54 clubs which has competed for Bundesliga. German football used to be played in regional level until 1949. In 1950s, request for making a central professional league in which former German national coach Sepp Herberger did tremendous contribution for promoting German national team as well as forming national level competition. After losing World cup quarterfinal game against Chile, Bundesliga was created in Dortmund on 28 July 1962. With the average attendance of 43,300 in season 2015/16, Borussia Dortmund has toped the table overtaking Bayern München, according to worldfootball.net.

Bundesliga had generated aggregate post-tax profit of around $55 million and total revenue was around 2.62 billion euro in 2014-15 according to CEO of Bundesliga. Bundesliga earned 164.5 million euro in 2015/16 alone from kit sponsorships. The most valuable club of Bundesliga is Bayern München having 2.7 billion USD and the second is Borussia Dortmund having team value of 836 million USD, according to the value judgment of Forbes. Bayern München has dominated Bundesliga by winning 26 times. There are altogether 43 champions of German. Bundesliga is ranked second football league in Europe according to its past five year's performance and is one of the famous and recognized as top football league globally.
