LA LIGA Santander

La Liga also known as La Liga Santander is the top professional men's football association of Spanish Football League system. Founded in 1929, it has twenty teams in which prevails the system of relegation of bottom three clubs to Segunda Division and two teams plus a winner of first play-off also gets promoted to the Liga. Clubs are ranked according to their points earned during the match. The clubs play twice with the team same as the premier league; home and away match known as double round-robin system, where altogether every club plays 38 games which starts from August to May. The games are often played in the weekends; Saturday and Sunday. 

With the average attendance of 26,741 according to 2014/15 research, this is the sixth highest professional sports league in the world behind Premier League, Bundesliga, and the Indian Super League. It is one of the most popular league in the world and for recent five years, it is considered as the top league in Europe as it has won the most UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and players from this league has earned highest number of FIFA Ballon d'Or awards including two legends; Christiano Rolando and Lionel Messi . La Liga shares 50% of its TV rights money to 20 clubs in La Liga, 25% money based on records of the clubs in past 3 years and 25% according to resource generating capacity of the club.  

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Athletico Madrid has dominance over this league for past decade. Real Madrid winning 32 times, Barcelona winning 24 times, Athletico Madrid winning 10 times, Athletico Bilbao 8 times, Valencia 6 times, Real Sociedad 2 times, Deportivo La coruña, Sevilla, Real Betis one time. Real Madrid has shown dominance over all other clubs in this league. However, this is a famous as well as entertaining football league in Europe.
